Disagreement Index: Where Do the AIs Disagree?

Quick Answer: The Disagreement/Correction Index (DCI) tracks points where AIs contradict, correct, or disagree with each other in real time. It has its own dedicated tab in both sidebars - check it to see where the answer isn’t settled.

What You’ll Learn

  • What the DCI tracks
  • Where to find it
  • How to read disagreement data
  • Why disagreements are valuable
  • How DCI works with the Adjudicator

What It Does

As your conversation progresses, the AIs sometimes contradict each other. One AI might recommend aggressive pricing while another cautions against it. One might cite a study while another questions its methodology. The DCI catches these moments automatically. It tracks every point where an AI:
  • Contradicts a previous AI’s claim
  • Corrects a factual statement
  • Disagrees with a recommendation or conclusion
Each entry shows the specific AIs involved and the nature of the conflict.

Where to Find It

The DCI has its own dedicated tab in both sidebars. It used to live inside the Scribe panel, but now has its own space for better visibility. Look for the DCI tab next to the Scribe and Visuals tabs.

How to Read It

Each disagreement entry shows:
  • The topic - What the AIs disagree about
  • The AIs involved - Which models are on which side
  • The nature of the conflict - Is it a factual contradiction, a different recommendation, or a different interpretation?

Why Disagreements Matter

When all 5 AIs agree, you can be fairly confident in the answer. When they disagree, that’s a signal. Disagreements highlight where:
  • The answer isn’t settled and depends on assumptions
  • Different frameworks lead to different conclusions
  • Your human judgment is most needed
  • Additional research or data might resolve the conflict
The areas where AIs disagree are often the most important areas for you to think about carefully.

DCI in Debate Mode

In Debate mode, the DCI is especially valuable. It tracks disagreements across all debate rounds, giving you a running record of which arguments held up and which were challenged.

DCI and the Adjudicator

The Adjudicator uses DCI data when generating decision briefs. Disagreements become the “unresolved questions” section of the brief - the areas where the conversation didn’t reach consensus and where you need to make the call.

Tips

  • Check the DCI after a long Sequential conversation. You might find important disagreements you scrolled past.
  • In Debate mode, the DCI becomes your scorecard for the debate. Which arguments survived challenge? Which didn’t?
  • If the DCI is empty, your question might have been straightforward enough that all AIs agreed. That’s useful information too.
  • Use DCI entries as follow-up prompts. “The AIs disagreed about market timing. Dig deeper into this.”
