Sequential Mode: Deep Analysis
Quick Answer: Sequential is the default mode. AIs respond one after another, each seeing and building on previous responses. It produces the deepest, most compounding analysis.
What You’ll Learn
- How Sequential mode works
- The default response order and how to customize it
- When to use it (and when not to)
- How auto-recovery handles streaming drops
- How to get the best results
How It Works
When you send a message in Sequential mode:- The first AI responds to your question
- The second AI reads the first response and builds on it
- This continues through all 5 AIs
- Each AI sees everything that came before
- Your original message
- All previous AI responses in this turn
- The full conversation history
Why the Order Matters
The sequence is designed for compounding value:- Early AIs bring raw information and initial framing
- Middle AIs structure and analyze that information
- Later AIs synthesize, find gaps, and conclude
Customizing AI Order
You control which AI responds first, second, third, fourth, and fifth.- Go to Settings then open the Modes tab
- Drag AIs into your preferred sequence
- Your custom order applies to all new Sequential conversations
@Perplexity followed by your message sends Perplexity first regardless of your saved order.
Auto-Recovery
If streaming drops mid-round - for example, an AI’s response is interrupted - the system automatically resumes from where it left off. You don’t need to re-send your prompt. When to Use Sequential Mode
Sequential is your best choice for:| Use Case | Why Sequential Works |
|---|---|
| Research | Each AI adds depth, sources compound |
| Complex decisions | Multiple angles explored thoroughly |
| Thorough analysis | Nothing gets missed |
| First exploration of a topic | You don’t know what you don’t know |
| Important questions | Worth the extra time for quality |
When to Use a Different Mode
| Situation | Better Mode |
|---|---|
| Need a quick answer | Super Mind |
| Want arguments for/against | Debate |
| Testing idea strength | Red Team |
| Know which AI you need | Targeted (@mention) |
| Time-sensitive | Super Mind or single @mention |
Timing
A full Sequential round takes 50-100 seconds depending on:- Question complexity
- Response length settings (Concise/Normal/Detailed)
- Whether deep thinking is enabled
Example
Your message:Tips for Best Results
- Be specific in your first message. “Help with compliance” gives generic answers. “SOC 2 for a 15-person healthcare SaaS” gives actionable ones.
- Let the full round complete. Don’t stop after the third AI - the later responses often have the most synthesized value.
- Use follow-ups after round 1. Pick the most interesting angle and dig deeper: “Tell me more about the timeline Claude mentioned.”
- Combine with @mentions in round 2. After seeing all perspectives, target the most relevant AI for deeper exploration.
- Try response detail modes. Switch between Concise, Normal, and Detailed to control depth per round.
Deep Thinking in Sequential Mode
When deep thinking is enabled, each AI spends more time reasoning before responding. This means:- Responses are more thoughtful and considered
- The sequence takes longer (2-3 minutes total)
- Quality increases significantly for complex questions
