# Live Synthesis

# Live Synthesis

> **Quick Answer:** The Scribe Panel watches your conversation in real time and pulls out key decisions, insights, action items, and themes as they emerge - so you don't have to take notes.

## What You'll Learn

* What live synthesis shows you
* How it updates as the conversation progresses
* What types of information it captures
* How to use it during and after conversations

## What Is Live Synthesis?

The Scribe Panel sits in your right sidebar and observes your conversation. As the AIs respond and you send follow-ups, the Scribe automatically identifies and surfaces:

* **Key Decisions** - When something gets decided or agreed upon
* **Insights** - Novel observations or conclusions from the AIs
* **Action Items** - Things that need to happen next
* **Themes** - Recurring topics or patterns across responses
* **Agreement indicators** - Each captured insight can carry one: a coloured edge (green for broad agreement, amber for split, red for contradicted) plus a line naming which AIs agreed and which dissented. Notes from a single-AI turn, and notes that are not opinions, carry no indicator

Think of it as having a dedicated note-taker who highlights what matters.

**Note:** Disagreement tracking is not in the Scribe panel. The **DCI (Disagreement/Correction Index)** lives at the top of the **Adjudicator tab** in the right sidebar and shows where AIs contradict or correct each other in real time. See [Consensus Score: How Suprmind Measures Agreement and Confidence](/docs/decision-support/consensus-score/) for how the DCI turn score, the Decision Brief confidence level, and the Scribe agreement indicators fit together.

## How It Updates

The Scribe updates incrementally:

1. **After each AI response** - New insights are extracted
2. **After your follow-ups** - Decisions and direction changes are noted
3. **Across rounds** - Themes are identified as patterns emerge
4. **On agreement** - Each insight is marked with which AIs backed it and which dissented, when more than one AI weighed in

You don't need to do anything. The Scribe works automatically in the background.

## Using the Scribe During Conversations

### Quick Reference

Glance at the Scribe to remember what's been covered without re-reading all responses.

### Missing Something?

If the Scribe identified an insight you missed, dig deeper with a follow-up question.

### Track Decisions

At the end of a session, the decisions panel shows exactly what was resolved.

### Pre-Document Check

Before generating a Master Document, scan the Scribe to ensure nothing important was missed.

## Tips

* The Scribe doesn't interrupt your conversation - it works silently in the sidebar
* You can collapse the Scribe panel if you want more screen space for the chat
* For long conversations, the Scribe becomes essential - it tracks things you'd otherwise forget
* Use the Scribe's output to decide which document type to generate
* If the Scribe missed something important, it might mean the AIs didn't emphasize it enough - ask a follow-up
