# Finding Your Way Around

> **Quick Answer:** The main chat area is center stage. Left sidebar holds your projects and conversations. Right sidebar houses Scribe, Master Documents, and project settings.

## The Layout

Suprmind has three main areas:

### Left Sidebar - Navigation

This is your project and conversation hub:

* **Projects list** - All your projects, click to open
* **Conversations** - Chat history within the active project
* **New Project** button - Create a new workspace
* **New Conversation** button - Start a fresh chat in the current project

### Center - Main Chat Area

This is where the action happens:

* **Message input** - Type your messages here
* **AI responses** - Each AI's response appears in sequence
* **Provider pills** - Show which AIs are responding. On mobile, these are compact icons that expand on touch
* **Tool usage footer** - Each AI response shows what tools it used (web search, file search) with citation links
* **Listen button** - Next to each AI's name. Tap to hear the response read aloud
* **Stop button** - Appears during AI responses; click to interrupt
* **Auto-follow toggle** - Keeps the view scrolled to the latest response as AIs stream
* **Jump to Latest button** - Appears during long conversations so you can skip to the newest response
* **Mode selector** - Switch between Sequential, Super Mind, Debate, Red Team, and First Principles

### Right Sidebar - Tools & Context

Your workspace tools:

* **Scribe Panel** - Live synthesis of your conversation
* **Visuals tab** - Browse all charts generated during a conversation. Download as PNG or SVG
* **DCI tab** (Disagreement/Correction Index) - See where AIs disagree with each other in real time
* **Adjudicator** - Generate structured decision briefs from your conversation (in Project Context sidebar)
* **Master Document Generator** - Create documents from conversations
* **Project Info** - Current project name, description, instructions
* **File uploads** - Documents added to the project

Both sidebars (Project Context and Live Document) are resizable by dragging their edges.

## Key Interface Elements

### The Message Input

* Type your message and press Enter (or click Send)
* Type `@` to see AI mention options
* The mode selector shows your current orchestration mode

### AI Response Cards

Each AI's response appears as a distinct card with:

* The AI's name and icon, with a **Listen** button to hear it read aloud
* The response content (streams in real-time)
* A **tool usage footer** showing which tools the AI used (web search, file search) with clickable citation links

### The @Mention Picker

When you type `@`, a dropdown appears showing available AIs:

* Click an AI name to insert the @mention
* You can type to filter (e.g., `@cl` shows Claude)
* Select multiple for multi-AI targeting

### The Stop Button

Visible whenever an AI is generating:

* Click once to stop the current AI's response
* The conversation continues from that point

### Mode Selector

Switch how the AIs work together:

* **Sequential** (default) - AIs respond one after another, each building on previous
* **Super Mind** - All respond simultaneously, then synthesized into one answer
* **Debate** - AIs argue different positions on your question
* **Red Team** - AIs attack your idea to find weaknesses
* **First Principles** - AIs break your question down to fundamental truths before building up

### The Scribe Panel

Opens from the right sidebar:

* Shows live synthesis of your conversation
* Highlights key decisions, insights, and action items
* Access the Master Document Generator from here

## Quick Actions

| Want to...           | Do this                                       |
| -------------------- | --------------------------------------------- |
| Start a new chat     | Click "New Conversation" in left sidebar      |
| Switch projects      | Click a different project in left sidebar     |
| Talk to one AI       | Type `@` + AI name in your message            |
| Stop an AI           | Click the stop button during response         |
| Change mode          | Use the mode selector above the input         |
| Generate a document  | Open Scribe panel → Master Document Generator |
| Upload a file        | Open right sidebar → Files section            |
| Edit project context | Open right sidebar → Project Info             |

## On Mobile

The mobile interface is optimized for smaller screens:

* **Wider chatbox** for easier typing
* **Swipeable preset prompt pills** at the top of the screen for quick starts
* **Scrollable mode pills** to switch between modes without opening settings
* **Compact provider icons** that expand on touch to show full AI names
* **Safe area handling** for iOS notch and Dynamic Island

## Tips

* Keyboard shortcut: Press `/` to focus the message input from anywhere
* The right sidebar collapses to give more space to the chat when you don't need it
* AI response cards are scrollable - long responses don't push everything else down
* You can copy text from any AI response by selecting it directly
* Drag sidebar edges to resize them to your preference
* Use the auto-follow toggle to keep the view locked to new responses during streaming
