# Stop, Redirect, Continue

> **Quick Answer:** Click the stop button during any AI's response to interrupt it. Your next message redirects the conversation, and the stopped AI responds first to your new input.

## How to Stop an AI

While any AI is responding, click the **stop button** in the chat. The response stops immediately.

That's it. No confirmation dialog, no consequences. Just an instant stop.

## What Happens Next

1. You type your follow-up or redirect
2. The AI you stopped responds **first** to your new input
3. Other AIs continue in sequence (if applicable)

The key insight: **stopping doesn't reset anything.** The conversation continues with full context, including the partial response.

## Why This Matters

### Spot Something Interesting? Dig In Immediately

Don't wait for 4 more AIs to finish. Stop and explore the interesting point right now.

### Going the Wrong Direction? Redirect

If you see the AIs heading down an irrelevant path, stop and correct course before wasting time.

### Need to Add Context? Jump In

Realized you forgot to mention something important? Stop and add it.

## Example Workflow

1. You ask: *"What are the risks of expanding into the European market?"*
2. Claude is responding and mentions **GDPR compliance costs** - that's exactly what you want to explore
3. You click **stop** (GPT and Gemini haven't responded yet)
4. You type: *"Tell me more about GDPR compliance costs specifically. What's the typical investment for a company our size?"*
5. Claude responds first with detailed GDPR cost analysis
6. GPT and Gemini follow with their perspectives on the same focused question

**Result:** Instead of 5 broad answers about "European risks," you got a deep dive on the one risk that matters most to you.

## When to Stop

* **An AI mentions something you want to explore** - stop and ask about it
* **The responses are too broad** - stop and narrow the focus
* **You realize your question wasn't specific enough** - stop and rephrase
* **You already have what you need** - stop and move to the next question

## When NOT to Stop

* **First time on a new topic** - let the full sequence run to get the complete picture
* **You want diverse perspectives** - the later AIs often add unexpected value
* **You're not sure what you're looking for** - let the exploration happen

## Tips

* Stopping is free. Don't hesitate. If something catches your eye, stop and pursue it.
* The partial response from the stopped AI is preserved in the conversation. Nothing is lost.
* This works in every mode: Sequential, Super Mind, Debate, Red Team, and First Principles.
* You can stop and redirect multiple times in a conversation. It's how power users work.
* Use the **auto-follow toggle** to control whether the chat scrolls to the latest response automatically. Turn it off when you want to read an earlier response while later AIs are streaming.
* If you stopped an AI and want to catch up with later responses, use the **Jump to Latest** button.
